Thirty Years Later: We Will Survive
Thirty years after Scott Berne’s mother abducted him and his brother from their father (who had sole custody), Scott retells his story. Only this time it’s about turning hardship, struggles and abandonment into survivorship. All within a two year period of time, Scott was taken to five different countries and 13 residencies, forced to change his name, and told that his father had died. Based on his experiences, Scott will share with you his knowledge on the stages of grief, learning to accept the past, forgiving the unforgiveable, and giving service to others – all of which eventually set him free.
(Custody) Lost: In the Best Interest of the Child
A father’s fight to find his children and son’s fight to survive summarizes Scott Berne’s early years of childhood. Today, he is an author, public speaker and child advocate for children going through the often difficult situation of divorcing or separating parents. Scott will discuss the ways that parents can reduce the stress of family changes effectively, and protect their children from the harmful effects of ongoing conflict and custody battles.
Scott Berne became internationally known at age 12 in a landmark custody battle as a parental abduction survivor.
